Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
Please read these terms carefully before using Privacy Vault.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Privacy Vault (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Privacy Vault is a browser-based password generation and storage tool. The Service operates entirely within your web browser. No user data, passwords, credentials, or vault contents are transmitted to or stored on any remote server operated by us.
3. No Account Required
The Service does not require you to create an account, provide personal information, or authenticate with any external service. Use of the Service is anonymous from our perspective — we receive no identifying information from you during normal use.
4. Client-Side Encryption
All encryption and decryption operations are performed exclusively in your browser using the Web Crypto API (AES-GCM 256-bit). Your master password and vault contents are never transmitted to us. We are technically incapable of accessing your stored credentials.
5. Your Responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the security of your master password.
- You are responsible for keeping secure backups of any exported vault files. If you lose your master password, your vault data is unrecoverable.
- You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent any security measures of the Service.
6. No Warranties
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. The cryptographic implementation follows current best practices, but no software can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of credentials resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Since all vault data is stored locally on your device and encrypted with a key only you know, our ability to assist in data recovery is nil. You acknowledge this architectural limitation.
8. Intellectual Property
The source code, design, and branding of Privacy Vault are the property of net2coder. You may view the source code for audit purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service without explicit written permission.
9. Open Source Components
Privacy Vault is built using open-source libraries including Next.js, React, Lucide Icons, and shadcn/ui. These are subject to their respective licenses.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date above.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable jurisdiction.
12. Contact
